With the increasing digitization of our everyday lives, the provision of information in real time and free access to data is becoming increasingly important. Modern technologies are also used in public transport, among other things. Buses equipped with on-board computers collect and analyze data in real time and exchange it with other buses. The system provides information about accidents and failures. Arrival times are calculated in real time and timetables are adjusted accordingly.

Pursuing an “open data” strategy can lead to an additional ecosystem of applications that create long-term benefits. More than 250 applications are now based on data from the City of Vienna.
